A few years ago I started offering courses, diving into material that would train people to become shamanic practitioners. The intention was to pass on all that I had learned throughout my journey of working with shamanic healing techniques, many of which I have developed myself.

Although I designed a 4 year course, in practice it has taken much longer, especially given the disruption that covid brought. I am now guiding the final leg of the course for a core group of people who have committed to the training over the past 5 or 6 years.

I have now decided to take a pause in guiding more people down the long journey, focusing instead on helping the existing core group of people to complete their studies whilst offering different workshops and courses to the world - focusing on animism as a practice and the skill of shamanic journeying.

However, for people with aptitude and desire to continue down the path to become a shamanic practitioner, I am offering apprenticeships on a 1-1 basis. These are offered to people who have completed at least one year course of training with me and are by application only. If you are interested, then read on for more detail.

The shamanic training course involves learning and mastering the practice of journeying, as a means of connecting with the spirit world for guidance and support, healing and continual training and development.

It involves developing a deeply embodied practice of connection with nature and with nature spirits and of developing an animist worldview.

It involves stepping into your wild self, becoming full in your soul and living an authentic life. It involves finding your gifts and your soul urges and walking your soul path. Finally it involves learning the practices and techniques needed to become a shamanic healer, firstly for yourself and then finally, for you to share with the world.

In the course I guide you to learn techniques which I use in my own healing practice, some of which have been passed to me by different teachers in different traditions, some of which I developed myself, all with proven positive and long lasting results. I will guide you myself on your journey into becoming a shamanic practitioner and I will be your mentor until you are ready to step into the role of healer yourself.

This may take more than 4 years ultimately. Shamanism is a long path and it requires dedication and commitment to the path in order to qualify as a healer. It is a long journey of walking on your own personal healing path whilst working with ancient techniques, often gifted and guided by spirit. This journey is not for everyone.

Towards the end of the course, you will be invited to attend weekend courses where I will teach specific shamanic healing techniques and where you will be able to practice with clients under my direct guidance.

In order to qualify as a shamanic practitioner, you will need to complete several case studies and pass an informal exam. You will also be assessed throughout the course.

To apply

After attending a year long course with me (for instance, the Practicing Animism or Online Shamanic Journeying Courses), you will be able to apply for the apprenticeship. At this stage it may take 2-3 years before you are ready for the final exam, although this will depend upon many factors and could be sooner. The apprenticeship is offered monthly and is quite a fast-track learning dive, both in terms of your own healing journey (crucial for your development into becoming a shamanic practitioner) and learning how to hold others.

Be aware this is a life-path and commitment to it is necessary. Saying that, should you decide to leave the path at any time, this is absolutely fine. Indeed you will have learned many valuable skills.

The apprenticeship is offered largely online with some occasional in-person events. You are encouraged to attend some of my other group workshops and events throughout.

The price is £200 a month for a 2 hour teaching session and a 1.5 hour mentoring session. I am also available throughout to help guide and support you outside of the sessions as this is an intense course which I will help you to pass. Once you have passed the exam, you will become a qualified shamanic practitioner, accredited by IPHM (International Practitioners of Holistic Medicine). At this stage, you will be able to practice as a shamanic healer, upon gaining suitable insurance. I will continue to be available for mentoring for those who have reached this stage.
