Terms and Conditions

This page details all the legal terms and conditions involved in attending a course or event via Rewilding the Soul (led by Samara Lewis) or booking an appointment for shamanic healing or ecotherapy with Samara Lewis.

Please read through if you are considering doing any work with me. All fairly standard and part of the world that I am not best fond of, but important nonetheless in order to keep you and me (and everyone else attending a course) safe. With thanks, Samara.

Agreement

Any agreement made between us (for any services offered by Samara Lewis, operating as “Rewilding the Soul”) is based on the terms and conditions outlined in this page and arise from the fulfillment of the following:

  1. Confirmed receipt of the full payment or non-refundable deposit cleared in the bank account of Samara Lewis or confirmed and agreed in writing concessionary agreement/ payment plan (as detailed in section “Payment” below).

  2. That the person booking is the client and not any person acting on behalf of the client.

  3. That the agreement made is solely between Samara Lewis and the client and not a third party.

  4. Samara Lewis reserves the right to refuse bookings to any individual without explanation, solely at Samara’s discretion. In this instance, Samara will return any payment accompanying the booking.

Payment

Shamanic Healing - payments to be cleared in the bank account of Samara Lewis within 24 hours of the scheduled appointment. Therefore payments made via this website need to be made 4 working days prior to the scheduled appointment, as it takes 3 working days for the payments to clear via this payment method. See below for cancellation policy.

Subscriptions - to monthly groups - incur a cancellation policy (as outlined below) of one month’s notice. The subscription involves a set fixed fee paid monthly, irrespective of whether the client attends a session. There will be no refunds given for any session not attended by the client.

Courses & events - Following the cleared payment in the bank account of Samara Lewis of an initial non-refundable deposit, the balance of the fees is required in full no later than 6 weeks before the program starts. If the balance is not paid, Samara Lewis reserves the right to treat the agreement as cancelled by the client in relation to the cancellation policy below. Bookings made within 6 weeks of program commencement must be accompanied by payment in full upon booking (unless prior agreement has been made for an instalment plan, as detailed below).

At the discretion of Samara Lewis, some clients may be offered a concessionary rate, which will be agreed in writing and treated in the same way as if it were the set standard fee. EG is subject to the same terms and conditions and cancellation policy.

At the discretion of Samara Lewis, some clients may be offered a payment plan to enable them to pay the agreed fee in instalments. In this instance, the instalments must be completed prior to the start date of the course and no later and are subject to the same terms and conditions and cancellation policy as outlined below.

Cancellation Policy

Given the substantial preparation involved in delivering a course or event, the client must be aware of the following conditions and therefore agrees to such. If the booking is cancelled for any reason the following charges will be applied:

a)     Cancellation up to 6 weeks before a course/ event starts results in the client losing the deposit.

b)     Cancellation 3-6 weeks before a course/ event starts results in the client losing 50% of the course/ event fee, if already paid, with the remainder refunded. If full payment not already received, then the client will lose any monies already paid up to 50% of the course fee and Samara would ask the client to honour any remaining monies owing, up to 50% of the course fee.

c)     Cancellation less than 3 weeks before a course/ event starts results in the client losing 100% of the course/ event fee, if already paid. If full payment has not already been received, then Samara would ask the client to honour any remaining monies owing.

If a client decides, for whatever reason, to cancel a shamanic healing appointment, they agree to the following charge:

  1. Cancellation up to 2 weeks prior to the appointment date/ time already arranged will result in a refund of the total fee paid.

  2. Cancellation up to 1 week prior to the appointment date/ time already arranged results in the client losing 50% of total fee for the appointment, if already paid, with the remainder refunded. If full payment not already received, then the client will lose any monies already paid up to 50% of the appointment fee and Samara would ask the client to honour any remaining monies owing, up to 50% of the appointment fee.

  3. Cancellation less than 1 week prior to the appointment already arranged results in the client losing 100% of the cost of the appointment, if already paid. If full payment has not already been received, then Samara would ask the client to honour any remaining monies owing.

Suitability of Course/ Event

Prior to booking and prior to paying a deposit/ fee/ or taking out a subscription, the client agrees to have assessed the suitability of the course/ event/ group to meet their needs, by reading the publicly available information and by asking questions and/or requesting an initial free-of-charge meeting with Samara Lewis to discuss the content of the course before booking.

All bookings to a course or event will involve both a payment and the completion of a booking form. Clients agree to complete the booking form fully and truthfully, to the best of their knowledge and not to refrain from disclosing any information which the form specifically asks for EG medical conditions. If it later transpires that known information was not disclosed to Samara which is imperative for the safe practice of the course, either for the clients’ own wellbeing or that of others, Samara reserves the right to refuse further participation on the course/ event without refund.

Client Conduct

During attendance of a course or event,

  1. Clients are expected to behave in a reasonable manner at all times and to comply with the reasonable instructions and leadership of Samara Lewis.

  2. Clients agree to behave with respect towards the other participants and leaders/ volunteers throughout the course, raising any concerns with Samara Lewis in the event they may arise.

  3. Clients agree to keep any personal information about the other participants that may be shared by them on the course/ event strictly confidential and agree not to share any information about the participants publicly in any way.

Samara Lewis reserves the right to remove any client from the course/ event at her discretion without recourse to repayment for that course/ event and against the clients will if necessary. Circumstances that may warrant exclusion from a course/ event includes (without limitation): abusive behaviour, persistent intimidatory or undermining behaviour, persistent prejudicial behaviour, intoxication, use of non-prescription drugs, inability to meet the rigours of the course/ event for undisclosed medical or psychological reasons (as explained in “suitability for course event” above). For removal of any individual under such conditions, Samara will not be liable to any losses as a result and Samara is also entitled to any reasonable costs arising from the removal of said individual.

Variation of Course/ Event

Sometimes a course/ event program is subject to natural forces (EG weather) and although, in this instance, every effort will be made to comply with the content of the course/ event, Samara Lewis reserves the right to alter the content to match any natural variables. The client acknowledges that due to this variability of natural forces it may however be necessary at times to either cancel an event or change the date. That in such circumstances it is not reasonable for Samara Lewis to be liable for any losses as a result and that her liability is limited accordingly.

Cancellation of Course or Event

Please note there is a minimum number of clients required for a course/ event to run. In the event that, prior to 6 weeks before a course/ event is scheduled to run, there are not enough bookings to enable the course/ event to run, Samara Lewis will refund all monies paid in full to those clients who had booked.

Samara Lewis reserves the right to cancel all and any bookings without reason or notice. Under these unlikely circumstances Samara Lewis agrees to repay in full all and any deposits or program fees to the client (unless the cancellation arises from natural forces, as detailed in the point above re natural forces).

If booking from overseas, Samara Lewis will not be liable for any costs incurred as a result of course cancellation EG related travel bookings and cancellations. Clients must ensure they have adequate travel / booking insurance to cover these potential penalties or costs. Samara strongly advises clients to discuss plans with her first, prior to booking, if booking from overseas. Please note that Samara will only refund the payments already made for the actual program booked and that all costs relating to travel will not be compensated.

Intellectual Property

Participants in all programs delivered by Samara Lewis will adhere to copyright, trademark and intellectual property requirements. Any materials, approaches or teachings remain the property of Samara Lewis. This includes all written and recorded materials, included those on this website.

The client agrees not to share the said property of Samara Lewis publicly in any way.

Liability

The programs run by Samara Lewis (of Rewilding the Soul) all involve some activities that take place outdoors, which is never completely free from hazard. While all reasonable precautions are taken to minimise these risks, the client accepts that accidents can occur, including serious injury, without Samara Lewis being at fault. The client also recognises that Samara Lewis is not responsible for loss or damage to the personal property of the client, including vehicles, money, clothing and/or equipment.

The client also recognises that attendance of a program run by Samara Lewis, unless it is explicitly specified and run as a teacher-training course, in no way gives permission or qualifies her/him to teach or deliver the program content, in part or in full, or a modified version thereof, unless explicitly specified by Samara Lewis. Samara Lewis therefore accepts no responsibility for any mishap occurring to third parties taught by attendees of any program taught by Samara.

Samara Lewis, whilst taking all reasonable steps to teach shamanic healing to the best of her ability and following best practice, takes no responsibility or liability for any mishap occurring to any client caused by any individual who has trained with Samara Lewis following the required shamanic practitioner certificate being achieved.

Samara Lewis also takes no responsibility for any mishaps occurring as a result of the client’s failure to follow instruction during the shamanic training course during the stage when the course participant/ trainee takes case studies. During this stage, detailed instruction and training will be given and it is the trainee’s responsibility to follow instruction carefully.

Insurance

Samara is covered to a level of £1,000,000 for Public Liability and is insured for shamanic healing, outdoors activity provision and teaching.
