Dreaming Ancient Landscapes

ANCESTORS

20 years ago I started “Dreaming Ancient Landscapes”, a project to bring people into connection with the ancestral energies and sometimes the spirits themselves, found within British prehistoric monumental landscapes.

Born of my experiences travelling around the British countryside; sleeping under trees, under towering boulders in the moor and in long barrows. Spending time at prehistoric monuments, connecting with the spirits of the ancestors and the nature spirits still present and often undisturbed in these long forgotten landscapes.

Added to this, I spent my academic life (B.A, M.A) studying the prehistoric archaeology of these places, building up a picture of the culture and society of the people that built the monuments and the religion and ritual which often sparked their creation.

Walking over hills crested with the remains of ancient human bone, hidden under large mounds and ditches carved out of the land with antler, hands and sweat. Huge standing stones and caverns, small and dark, diving into the earth. These places, rich in memory, hold clues to ourselves. Who built these places and why? Who was buried here and why? Is it possible to catch glimpses, faint smells and colours, of those who lived and died at these enigmatic prehistoric monuments and landscapes? Is it possible to meet the ancestors?

Diving into the prehistoric remains still embedded within the land of Britain is to catch glimpses of the indigenous people who once lived here. Connecting with them is possible and, through them, a spirituality based on reverence for the land of the British Isles.

Dreaming Ancient Landscapes offers bespoke experiences for individuals or small groups. Combining archaeology, shamanism and ecotherapy, the experience guides you into a deeper understanding of prehistory and connection with the ancestors. Reclaim the past, gain ancestral wisdom and a deep connection to land and place that is deeply healing.

The experience involves a guided tour of a prehistoric landscape, stopping at significant places to connect with the ancestors. Sometimes these tours offer shamanic journeying but it isn’t necessary. The whole tour can be created around your interests and curiosity. Spirit connection isn’t essential to the experience.

Typical experiences are located within prehistoric Wiltshire or Dorset, the Mendips in Somerset, the Stonehenge environs and the Avebury landscape, prehistoric Dartmoor, Cornwall, Pembrokeshire and the Peak District.

If you would like to gain a deep connection with a specific landscape/ monument/ building or area, whether that be a personal ancestral pull or connecting more deeply with the place where you live, do get in touch as I love meeting new land and spirit beings and would welcome the opportunity to help you connect on a 1-1 basis.
